The FOL is very proud to be associated with such a wonderful library.
Since 1995 we have worked to raise
Video and talking book shelves.
From 1995 until the board made the bold decision to renovate the existing building, we donated only books.

The Library Board had a committee to make all the difficult choices of paint colours, flooring etc. for the extension. We decided to give them a cheque for $3,000.00 to buy the Cultural Centre furniture. We love their choice and are very happy that they bought from a local merchant, Bush Furniture.

We still use most of our money on books, but have been able to help fund the genealogy project, by paying for the newspapers to be microfilmed. We also helped finance the automated check out system and recently bought a new computer to cope with the updated software for this programme.

funds and to be advocates for the library.
Obviously, buying books is a priority, but these days,a library
is about more than books.Computers, DVD's, audio books for adults and children play a very big part in the
success of the library, and this is where the FOL has been able to help as funds for these things
are not readily available.
The renovation project brought a new intensity to our fund raising. We were able to supply furniture for the
childrens section and the Cultural centre.
One of our members, Hazel Milner, actually drove to Ikea in
Mississsauga and came back with a loaded car, full of boxes of Kids furniture.

we can be approached for help as often as they need it.
